Hailing from NYC, Eytan is one of those rare musicians who put their passion and vision first. This talented artist refuses to compromise his art, embracing an eclectic range of influences to create a tantalizing blend of Israeli Mizrahi and mainstream genres such as RnB and pop, de facto earning his own unique spot within the American / Israeli music scene.
Entertwine: When and why did you start singing and creating music?
Eytan: I started singing at around 16 years old. Writing my own songs started only recently. “After the rain” was my first fully written song. The reason I started writing music was because it was a way for me to share my emotions and experiences and what better way then through music and lyrics.
ET: What made you decide to take a dive into the pop industry?
Eytan: Pop music just speaks to me. I feel good when I listen to it. It’s a reflection of my personality. Which is fun, energetic yet deep and soulful.
ET: With all of the competition in this genre, how do you feel that you stick out among the rest?
Eytan: I think as an artist you just need to be as genuine as possible. The rest will run its course.
ET: What inspires you to continue to write?
Eytan: The writing process for me is so empowering. As you go through life you continue to go through experiences like hardships, love, pain etc. Getting to put that into a song and to share my story with fans and people I love is just an unbelievable feeling.
ET: Who would you say are your biggest influences when it comes to writing and performing?
Eytan: I was always a romantic type of guy so I loved listening and singing to song written about love. Celine Dion, Whitney Houston , Mariah Carey, Josh Groban, Adam Levine, Britney Spears, Rihanna are definitely some of my biggest influences in the music industry.
ET: You just released your EP “After The Rain.” What was the writing and recording process like for this EP? Any memorable moments?
Eytan: Absolutely! It was a lot of work. I would be in the studio for hours just to get every song as perfect as possible. I got to write a dance track, a few ballads and of course “After the Rain. “After the rain” is a very personal song to me. There were times I would just tear up listening to it because this song told a part of my life and would take me back to everything I’ve gone through to get here..
ET: Your song “Only Got One Night” is an incredibly catchy song. What is the story behind it, and what was the experience like filming the music video?
Eytan: I need to give that credit to my producers Don Jarvis and Dennis Mavashev. They really pulled through to make this song my first English single in almost 2 years. Filming the music video was an experience for me since it was my first video ever. It was definitely fun meeting all the extras. Especially my “love interest” Concetta Raineri aka Chetti (who’s coming out with her first single very soon)
ET: If you could describe your music in three words what would they be?
Eytan: Soulful, Genuine, fun and I’ll even add a fourth…catchy!
ET: Now that your EP is out, any tour plans in the near future?
Eytan: I am looking to start touring as soon as I can.
ET: What’s next for Eytan?
Eytan: I’m working on new songs as we speak.I’m also working with a top executive producer in L.A who’s sold over 20 million records and has written for some major artists (including the backstreet boys) so I’m really excited. I also have a jewelry company called DUCARRA that I co own with business partner. There are so many things happening in my life right now. I’m so grateful that I get to share these experiences with all my fans. Love you guys!
