Hailing from São Paulo, Brazil, Fernando Triff is a driven, passionate and charismatic artist with a unique approach to his blend of alternative rock. He has been writing his own song since he was 16, eventually developing a personal sound that falls somewhere in the lot with inspirational artists such as Nirvana, Linkin Park, Gorillaz, Foster The People, Paramore or Sum 41, just to name a few. His debut single “Blessing like Swagger” is a upbeat, fun and catchy song that balances the appeal of pop and the energy of rock within a great and punchy anthem! Entertwine: Hello Fernando! Could you tell us about your musical background? What inspired you to begin writing and creating music initially?
Fernando Triff: I have been engaged with music since I was 16. A few of my inspirations are Ken Tamplin, Jaime Vendera and many good people. I learned a lot with them, I am always looking for new knowledge. Definitely I started to write to express my feelings, bands like Nirvana, Silverchair and Green Day inspired me in the begin.
ET: What can you tell us about the music scene of Sao Paulo, Brazil? How has the area influenced you, both musically and personally?
FT: As a big city São Paulo is one of the most important spots in Brazil. Major musicians are always playing here, we host Lollapalooza and many others good festivals. São Paulo has influenced me positively I had the opportunity to connect to great people that helps me becoming who I am!
ET: Who are your biggest musical influences? Why do these particular artists inspire you, and how do you incorporate their sounds, styles, or textures into your own musical compositions?
FT: Bands like Nirvana, Linkin Park, Gorillaz, Foster The People, Paramore. Nice one, I listen a lot music but I like those bands by their good music, message and attitude.
ET: What life experiences and events led to the writing and recording of your debut single ‘Blessing Like Swagger’? What has reception been like for the single so far?
FT: Not just in music but in all areas of my life I got the best of my references, I believe the best path is to be yourself. So I like those bands because their ideas are like mine. My personal journey, this song is an outburst and a projection. Better than I imagined, I am getting a lot positive feedback. my song was distributed by a publicist based out of New York city who worked with Imagine Dragon, Purity Ring and many ones to USA radio stations.
ET: What do the remaining months of 2014 hold in store for Fernando Triff? Do you have any plans to release an EP or a full-length album in the near future?
FT: I got nice positions is some charts and I am nominated for Best new artist in Dynamite Awards 2014 in Brazil. I will release my next single on Vevo as lyric video. Sure, I am working in my debut full-length album called Time and Space will be released until next summer
