Hector Gonzalez, better known by his stage name MG (Money Getter), is a Mexican-American rapper, entrepreneur, and one half of the rap duo ACE Or Nothing. He was born and raised in South Los Angeles, and is mainly influenced by westcoast gangsta rap. His growing up to a hustler mentality and getting it by any means for the better of his family is what drives MG. We asked MG a few questions about his start and what inspired him to start.
ET: When and why did you start rapping? What attracted you to this genre?
Money Getter: I was 13 years old the first time I stepped into a studio to record with an engineer by the name of Bougs. I would hang out with a crowd much older than myself all the time h dot (hdottydot), and his older brother Vix. I was always trying to improve and I still am to this day writing hooks, verses, etc. continuously writing. Stay driven. What attracted me to this genre of music was my Dad, he would always listen to rap from artists such as Dr. Dre, Too Short, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, 2 Pac. I kept on listening to it as I got older.
ET: What was the writing and recording process like for your album, “Money Getter?”
MG: I had fun working on this project, my brother Marcis Rithmz produced it in its entirety which created great vibes and comfort to work with.
ET: What is your favorite track off of this album?
ET: When you perform, record, or write, who is one person that inspires you to be your best?
MG: A lot of Artists from many different genres inspire me not just in hip hop, but mainly who truly inspires and motivates me is my family.
ET: Describe your music in three words for us!
MG: ACE or Nothing
