Too Bad is an Electronic Rock/Dance Punk band based out of Venice, CA. Let’s face it, EDM is getting played out and electronic music lovers are going to be looking for the next thing. That’s where Too Bad comes in. All the sounds of and energy of EDM being performed live as a band.

Entertwine: How did the members of the band meet and begin writing music and performing together?

I used to be in the band with Justin Bobby Brescia from MTV’s The Hills. That’s where the sound was really born. While we were in the middle of completing Permission to Land, he left me, just like he left Audrina all those times. I was obviously bummed, but I thought we recorded some great songs and I didn’t want to quit. So, I put an Ad on Craigslist and found Jason Napier. So yes, I met a strange man through CL. But, Jason is talented and been a really great band mate. Jason and I felt like our live shows were missing something, and that’s when we added the amazingly crazy talented drummer Jason Berlin. Yes, another Jason. Hence the nick names J. Rock, and Bam Bam.

What is the significance of the band’s name?

Sometimes things in life can happen and you either like it or you dont, and it’s just TOO BAD.

What is life like in Venice, California?

Venice is changing so much. It’s becoming quite trendy now. Which has it’s perks and negatives. I miss the old grungy just shady enough Venice that I first moved into. Had a lot of influence in my music writing.

Could you tell us about a few of the most exciting performances the band has been a part of?

3 gigs come to mind. When we played The Roxy opening for DEV on the sunset strip. Such a legendary venue and great sound. Our music video premiere for our song twisted in Hollywood. That was a real party. And when we played the Orange County Pride festival, it was especially exciting because gay marriage was just legalized.

How does your new single ‘Manimal’ expand on or differ from your older material?

Manimal is the complete sound of TOO BAD now. It shows progress, We’ve all gotten better as musicians and recording artist. Permission to Land was the launch and the idea of Dance Punk, but I barely knew anything about producing then. Now I know how to take songs to the place where we creatively want them as a band

What activities and hobbies do you enjoy outside of music?

Surfing and drinking really great beers like CHIMAY, and also supporting our music scene here and seeing other bands.

The members of Too Bad are also involved in other musical projects as well, correct?

Yes, Bam Bam(Drummer) is in a Jazz Rock fusion band which plays really cool music with rather interesting time signatures, and J.Rock (Singer/Guitar) is in a really cool rock band called Sink To See. It’s fun to see these guys in other elements. They are so talented.

What does 2015 hold in store for Too Bad?

Promotion of Manimal. Lots and lots of promoting. I have a personal goal to play the Wiltern Theater here in Los Angeles. So, we gotta hustle and get this awesome song heard.
