Formed in Indianapolis in 2012 by singer/songwriter Ty Stuart, and multi-instrumentalist Isaac Hero. indie rock duo ‘College Dropouts’ made soulful, beat orientated, pop-rock tracks. Stuart and Hero initially began the project alone, but before long they added High School classmates Jeremy Snyder and Tyler Andrzejewski on rhythm guitar and drums to form a band. Prior to this, they had a successful Vine career, reaching over a million revines. Wanting to pick up the pace, the band got together and reidentified themselves as ‘Who What Where’. The Indiana quintet recorded in the new year of 2016 their debut EP ‘Overdue’ that was released featuring energetic, guitar lead single ‘Body’ on March 4th, 2016.
Entertwine: Congrats on the newest EP release, “The Overdue”! Can you tell us a little bit about this project? What was the inspiration for it? Thanks! The Overdue EP is truly a preview of what my band is. We wanted people to listen to this EP as in introduction to Who What Where. Most inspiration came from real life experiences, and trying to find our place in the world.
What was the recording and writing process like for this EP? What was the most challenging? It was very interesting. We worked with our producer Brian “Bone” Thorburn for the first time on this project and like anything that’s new it was a learning experience. Being able to work with such a great group of people really helped add to the overall content of the EP. I think the most challenging thing is recording around everyone’s schedule. The more people you add the harder it gets.
Do you all have a favorite song? Why? Hook for Isaac (Isaac Hero Lead Vocals) and I (Ty Stuart Lead Vocals) was a very personal song. We wrote the song at a very interesting time in our lives.
How does this work compare to your past releases? It truly shows who we are as a band and what we want people to view us as.
Any plans to tour soon? We have some spring/summer dates we are currently sorting out.
What is next for you all in 2016? We are talking about recording our next EP. But first we really want this EP to resonate with our fans/listeners.
